There’s something deeply personal about shoes. They carry us through life — through our triumphs, transitions, and everyday moments. For me, they became the symbol of freedom, strength, and purpose.
When I started EIJK, it was never “just” about shoes. It was about building something that reflected who I am: creative, bold, a little unconventional — but grounded. I wanted to create footwear that wasn’t simply beautiful, but smart, timeless, and kind to both the earth and our feet. Footwear for women who, like me, walk many paths — and need a pair of heels (or flats) that can keep up with them.
I remember holding the very first prototype in my hand — it wasn’t perfect, but it was mine. A physical representation of years of experience, craftsmanship, and dreams. That feeling… I still carry it with me.
These days, I’m navigating a new balance. I work four days a week as a designer in fashion — and one day, just for EIJK. Time is limited, but my creativity hasn’t faded. In fact, it’s more sacred than ever.
I don’t know exactly what the future holds for EIJK. But I do know this: I started with a clear purpose — and that purpose remains. To create from love, not fear. To be proud of what I make. To walk my own path, one step at a time.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
With love,
Jolanda
